Is anybody still here!?? I'm posting anyways!!...

So it's been a long time since my last post. Very very busy but it's been good. I am working on setting up my own part-time martial arts club, I have been going out on a LOT of auditions (especially commercials) and Richelle is as busy as ever babysitting me :)

I will be doing a lot of promotional work for Kamen Rider and the ATA in the next few months and hopefully I will have some great news to share with you regarding some potential commercial jobs I'm in the running for!!

I worked on a cool short film called "Cut the Fat" that will be making the festival rounds. Met some great people that I will hopefully work with again sooner than later. 3 more weeks until I am back on "Kamen Rider". My character's "clone" makes his entrance on the show for the rest of the season. Don't tell anyone... it's a spoiler.

Richelle will be going to Hong Kong for Mattel in December for 2 weeks. I am already writing my will. Not sure how I'll handle it, but I know i'll be a wreck!

Hope all is well back in Minnesota with Excel, hope you all had a fun and safe Halloween! GO VIKINGS!

Not sure if i mentioned this movie I produced and wrote and starred in on this blog but here is "Dojo Drama" for your viewing pleasure:

Circle of Life..

As many of you know, Richelle's grandfather passed away last week. He was a great man and lived a long and happy life. It was a very tough time as Richelle was very close with her grandpa. I didn't know him for very long but for the few years that I did, he made me feel welcome to the family and we shared many laughs together. Experiencing a loss in the family is a very tough thing to do. It also gives you a chance to reflect on your own life and what you'd like to accomplish or how you'd like to be remembered when you're gone. For me, it also reminded me that it's family and loved ones that make a man, not material things.

On a brighter note, it was so much fun to see so many of you last Saturday! Thank you so much for coming out. It was great to see ALL of you! I always feel a boost of morale and energy every time I see old students and their families with all of the support you show for us!

I had to share this great picture of Mrs. Moh. Mattel asked her to be "Belle" from Beauty and the Beast at one of their toy presentations. It is like my favorite picture ever :)

We're coming to MN Sept. 18th -21st!! Hope to see as many of you as we can!

For those that have caught me on Kamen Rider, thanks for watching! Please continue watching! If you haven't seen it yet, check out this clip:

Comic Con, moving, and Kamen Rider update!

Comic Con was awesome. I got to sit on the Kamen Rider Panel and answer questions from fans, sign a few autographs, and take a few pictures. More excitingly though, Richelle and I went to COMIC CON!!! It was as crazy as I thought it'd be. Crazy people wearing crazy outfits. We got to sit in on panels for the HBO show : TrueBlood and Showtimes: Weeds.

This weekend, Richelle and I are 'movin on up' to a new place in Culver City only about a mile from our current home. I am excited for the new place, not excited for the moving!

Finally, new episodes of Kamen Rider WILL BE ON STARTING THIS SATURDAY! Originally thought to be premiering new episodes in September, they are now starting August 1st! That means yours truly will be on the tube starting on August 8th and lasting throughout August and September and a little into October. I can't wait it's been a long time coming..

ATA Worlds 09

This year I was flown out to Little Rock by the ATA to help with opening ceremonies. They even put me up in the peabody! That was the first time in the many times i've been to worlds that i've stayed there.

I had the honor of portraying (albeit for only a few minutes) the late Eternal Grandmaster H.U. Lee at opening ceremonies. It was a lot of work to get his movement and mannerisms down but I think I nailed it. It was kind of like preparing for an acting role.. Actually, it w
as exactly like that. It's amazing how much I feel I got to know what he was like just by studying his movement and expressions. A warm-hearted, charismatic individual that had the gift of leadership in a way that everyone who ever met him wanted to follow him. The ATA definitely misses his presence.

On top of that, Kamen Rider and the ATA teamed up to promote the show at opening ceremonies in which i got to do a little demo.... and i fell on my butt :) Oh well I got right back up and continued to put on a show. On Saturday, Adness Ent. (Kamen Rider's parent company) set up a booth and gave away posters, cards, and even 1000 action figures! Needless to say the action figures went quickly! So quickly that i forgot to grab some for myself! I got to sign autographs and for that day I got to feel like a celebrity:)
Here's a picture I got from Ms. K of me with Jackson!

A Few Things...

Thanks to those that still follow this blog! I know I haven't been updating this much but I assure you we will continue to post on this to give updates on our going's ons.

Richelle ended up having her Hong Kong trip cancelled by Mattel last-second... Thank goodness for me!!! I am so glad she is able to stay here with me! We are doing well here in Culver City, but we will be moving from our condo to another place in the area in August as our lease is up so we will be busy searching for a new place and moving our stuff! To aid in the process, I have undertaken a huge eBay project of selling all of the unusued stuff we have laying around which I have discovered is a TON!!!

I am headed to Little Rock next Tuesday to start rehearsal for World Championships. I am not competing or testing but I will be there helping Mr. Chat out with his XMA seminars and I involved in a few different things for the Opening Ceremonies on Friday night at Alltell Arena. I am very excited / nervous as it is the 40th Anniversary and they have some special things planned!

I am also working with Adness Entertainment (Production company for Kamen Rider) to promote the show and will be signing autographs at the Kamen Rider booth on Saturday. Check out my actor site to see my Kamen Rider "Advent Card" I will be signing!

Also... I am starting a new blog today to share with the world (not just our friends and family) called Daily Dojo. I will be posting free martial arts tips and also asian/martial arts inspired health and lifestyle tips for the non-martial artist and martial artist alike. Check it out and share with your friends!

Introducing Malibu Moh

Hey everyone:

Here is Malibu Moh AKA Malley. She is the coolest. Still very shy, she was found in someone's backyard abandoned with her Mom covered in mud. Richelle met her at a rescue fair and she came over for a visit and that was the end of that. She and Cheech are still feeling each other out but they are starting to play more and more.

Can't remember if I posted this in the last post, but Richelle will be going to Hong Kong for work in a few weeks for 2 and a half weeks. Wow that's a long time. I will be sad and also very confused as to what to do with my life. haha. But it is okay, I found out I WILL be going to worlds for a few different things that are TOP SECRET :P

In other news, DOJO DRAMA is in post production. This past Sunday, 6 people including myself took about 5.5 hours to film this movie at XMA. It's almost ready to be unveiled, so stay tuned!

Time to post!

Hey everyone! I haven't updated since we got back from visiting MN.. So, we brought our dog Cha-gi to MN and he didn't handle the plane ride so well. He bit through his bag and for the entire flight he tried to escape his bag. So the whole time I had to wrestle with him to keep him in his broken bag. 3 hours! Not to mention he was stressed so there was dog hair everywhere! I felt bad for him, I wasn't sure how he'd handle the flight and he wasn't liking it. Once we got to MN he was very happy, but I still didn't know what to do to get him back to LA.

Long story short, we decided to leave Cha-Gi with Richelle's sister Rosie. She has a house with a big backyard and another dog he really gets along with. On top of that, Cha-gi's shedding made Richelle's allergies flare up so although I was extremely sad to leave him, he is ultimately better off in MN with Rosie. Without Cha-gi at home, Cheech was extremely lonely so we decided to rescue another dog. More on that in another post!

Other than all that, we've been busy!! Richelle may be going to Hong Kong for 2 weeks next month for work... I am very nervous about being alone for that long! Hopefully I will survive!

I auditioned for a national applebees commercial 2 weeks ago and got a callback and did a great job. I was put "on avail" as a finalist but did not get it. That makes about 7 or 8 times I've been a finalist in a national commercial but did not get it. That just means I am due! I also did a photo shoot for upcoming web series I am filming called "Hackers". I play a character named "Z2", a young japanese hacker. More on that as it happens.

Another exciting thing going on is that I am producing and filming my first short film this weekend called "Dojo Drama". Since the industry is kind of slow all around I decided to be proactive and write this fun little action film. We'll film it at XMA this weekend and I hope to have it finished in a month to show you guys!

Coming back to MN soon!

In a few short weeks we'll be back in MN! Right now we're trying to decide if we'll be staying the whole week or just for the weekend. Time has been going by so fast in 2009 already. I've been busy teaching at XMA and auditioning for a lot of new pilots for next season's television schedule.

This past weekend Richelle and I went to a small premiere event for the film "Greenside" that I did over a year ago. After all that time, the film is finally finished and after seeing it on the bigscreen I was in awe of how great it turned out. The team of directors and producers involved in the film is very talented and have a bright future in this industry. At the time of filming, they were all students at the University of Wisconsin.

Yesterday I had a great audition for a smaller part on the show Grey's Anatomy. I got a callback so that's always a good sign. Casting for smaller roles usually happens very quickly so I don't think I got this role but it's another step in the right direction.

A couple weeks ago Richelle and I went to Las Vegas for the ATA tournament. I was invited last second by Mike Chat to do a little demonstration of the new XMA rules at upcoming tournaments. It was my first time performing in front of such a large group in a long time! It was also the first time I had to prepare a full-length form. To be honest it was a very nerve-racking experience but I did well and it was a lot of fun.

Hopefully we will get to see a lot of you when we're back in town for the tournament. We're excited!

Until then!

Life's a blur!

<--------- Me... upside down at XMA hq

So I finally have gotten a chance to post a new entry. Now that I am doing it though... I can't seem to remember all of the things I wanted to write!

In just a few short weeks, I have had a lot of things happen!

We had some visitors from Excel in our neck of the woods for the Black Belt Nationals in Los Angeles. It was great to have a piece of MN come to us! I got to be a part of the XMA World Headquarters' open house for ATA members and it was a blast. All of the staff members put together a demo and it was fun to perform in front of a crowd. It had been a long time since I have had to do a form in front of a crowd but it definitely made me miss it!

I now have a new team of agents and a new manager. I have just signed with a manager named Rob D'Avola. He has managed a number of successful actors and hopefully I will be the next in line! I am now with Osbrink Agency for commercials and Amsel, Eisenstadt, and Frazier for TV and Film. Both are highly regarded and powerful agencies in Hollywood. I am very excited about my new team and I have already auditioned for some very cool projects in the past few weeks. I'll be sure to update you guys on new opportunities that come my way.

Also, one of my fraternity brothers from college has decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. He also joined XMA World HQ so I see him often. It's great to have a close friend out here working towards the same goals as me. It's also great to be able to give him advice and it also gives me perspective as I was in his position not too long ago. It also makes me feel grateful for where I am at today as well.

This weekend Kamen Rider episode 8 will show. Please watch and tell all of your friends to watch too!

I also have a new website! You guys get a sneak peek because I have some footage from Kamen Rider on my videos page that has not yet aired. Be sure to check out my new action reel as it has some cool new footage!

Sinus infected... but now feeling better!

So I have been having cold/flu-like symptoms for the past few weeks and I started wondering why it was not going away so I went to the doctor. Turns out I had a sinus infection. Antibiotics are a wonderful thing as I am finally starting to feel better!

For those of you who have been watching Kamen Rider... Thanks for supporting the show! If you haven't been watching you can check it out every saturday morning at 11:30am on your CW affiliate. In case you're wondering why you haven't seen me yet.... My character "Danny Cho" debuts in episode 17. I am guessing it's gonna be early to mid may before my episodes are shown so for now just enjoy watching the series without me :)

I recently received a dvd of a few scenes from the show that I shot and it was really cool to see how they turned out. I can't wait for you guys to see the fight scene I worked on.. pretty cool stuff!

As far as my acting career goes... I have been going out on a few auditions and was put "on hold" for a Dell computer print ad but did not end up getting it. I know that if i keep going out on these auditions I will be booking another job soon enough. I am meeting with a pretty big-name manager on Wednesday and I am looking forward to it. If he represents me he could possibly open up a few doors for me and help me get to another level in my career. Wish me luck!

This weekend is Black Belt nationals practically in our own back yard... well about 10 mins away anyway. It will be great to go see all of our old ATA friends I have not seen in a while!

Speaking of which, we will definitely be coming back to MN in April for the twin cities tournament so we are looking forward to that as well.

Until next time!!

Phew. So we had a great Holiday break. We went to Korea, then to Thailand with my parents, back to Korea, and then to Las Vegas for New Years with Ms. K and Mr. Niska. It was so great to see my parents after not seeing them for over a year.

I will be sure to post pics soon!

We hope you had a relaxing break and here is to setting and getting new goals and reaching new heights in 2009 :)
